Lee Min Joo, known professionally as Lee Sang Ah, is an actor born in Ichon-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, South Korea. After graduating from Anyang Arts High School, she went on to get an associate's degree in broadcasting entertainment from Seoul Institute of the Arts and a bachelor's degree in cosmetology from The Academic Credit Bank System.

In 1984, Min Joo made her acting debut with a role in the KBS drama "Standing on a Mountain Temple" (산사에 서다) when she was in middle school and became a well-known teen star in the 1980's and 1990's. In 1997, She married comedian Kim Han Suk, but divorced about a year later and reduced her activities considerably, only appearing in a few dramas and commercials. In 2006, she returned to acting with a role in the movie "Like a Virgin" (천하장사 마돈나) but then took another nine-year hiatus from the industry, returning in 2015.
